Alicia Bye, age 73, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away November 20, 2024 at Tabitha Hospice in Lincoln.

Alicia was born June 13, 1951 in Fullerton, California to Robert Merle and Dora (Bell) Abernathy. She attended elementary school in Arovista Brea, CA and high school in La Habra, CA. She later received her GED.

She worked at various jobs including a car hop and an Elks Lodge Manager. Her last 20 years were working for Good Samaritan in Arapahoe, NE as cook/manager-independent and in Assisted Living as CNA MA. She retired in October 2019.

She was united in marriage to Robert Gene Bye in Arapahoe, NE on April 25.

Alicia was a lifelong member of the VFW originally in Bailey, CO.

She loved reading, laughter and the changing seasons. She enjoyed working in all aspects of elder care for many years.

Survivors include daughter Elizzabeth Anna Grant of Corozal, Belize; granddaughter Kellie Keller of Jansen, NE; grandsons Doug Metzger, Peter Metzger; sisters: Arletta Abernathy of CA, Angela Attencio of Weldon, CA and Alandra Spence of WI; step-mom Peggy Abernathy of AZ and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30+ years. Robert; and her parents.
