Alfonso Vallejo Lopez, age 67, of Shelby, Nebraska, passed away September 8, 2025 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital in Osceola.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Shelby Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Andrew Litt officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 10 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at the church. Organist will be Avis Rathje. Musical selections will be “Entre Tus Manos”, “El Pescador”, and “Song of Farewell.” Pallbearers will be Jose Vallejo, Victor Alfonso Vallejo, Carlos Leonardo Vallejo, Juan Alberto Vallejo, Fidel Ibarra, and Jesus Cazares. Interment will be in the Shelby Catholic Cemetery.

Alfonso was born May 25, 1958 in San Felipe El Aro, Guanajuato Mexico to Pedro Nicolas and Alvina (Lopez) Vallejo. He attended school in Mexico. On October 21, 1979 he was united in marriage to MA E. Esperanza Palacios in Mexico. To this union six children were born. They moved to the United States in 1985 and lived in California, and Chicago, IL before moving to Shelby, Nebraska in 2020. Alfonso enjoyed working on houses with MSJM Properties Partnership remodeling homes and also worked on farms and he enjoyed helping his family.

Survivors include his wife MA E Esperanza Palacios of Shelby; children: Jose Gustavo (Gaby) of Shelby, Juan Alberto of Shelby, Carmen (Jesus) of Polk, Victor Alfonso (Alondra) of David City, Ema (Fidel) of Shelby and Carlos (Andrea) of David City; 12 grandchildren: brothers: Armando Vallejo, Jorge (Esperanza), Adnan (Isidra); sisters Susana (Pablo) and Esperanza; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Pedro Nicolas Vallejo and Alvina Lopez Padres; brother Pablo Vallejo and sisters Victona and Candida.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.

Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
