Phyllis Joan (Stratton) Yungdahl

Phyllis Joan Yungdahl, age 80, of Stromsburg, NE, passed away November 18th, at her home. Phyllis was born July 8, 1939 to Ivan and Ruth (Miller) Stratton in Clarks, NE. Phyllis attended Jarmin District 40 country school and then graduated from Osceola High School Class of 1957
Phyllis married the love of her life and “best friend” Clark Yungdahl on September 19, 1959 in Osceola NE. Together they raised four children: Yancy (Jodi) Yungdahl of Tenino, WA, Andrea Dunham of York, NE, Heath Yungdahl of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Wade (Cigi) Yungdahl of Chandler, AZ.
Phyllis loved to cook. Trying a new recipe was her thing and then getting family and friends to try it. (You all know who you are that were picked to be her taste testers). She was a cook at several restaurants over the years including Flaherty’s in Osceola, The Corner Café in Stromsburg, and the most recent before retiring being PK’s in Benedict.
Phyllis loved her family, enjoyed spending time with them whenever she could. With not all of them living close she always loved getting pictures sent to her through the mail. There were many long telephone conversations with her three sisters that meant so much to her.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Clark of 60 years and their four children.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cody (Anna) Dunham of Lincoln, NE, Sydnee (Mike) Scheinost of Ceresco, NE, Trevor (Hannah) Yungdahl of Tenino, WA, Maci (fiancé Cameron) Yungdahl of Tumwater, WA, Austin (Brooklyn) Yungdahl of Chandler, AZ, Cheyenne Yungdahl, Braeden Yungdahl, Cooper Yungdahl, and Turner Yungdahl also all of Chandler, AZ. Her great grandchildren, Tyler and Layne Scheinost of Ceresco, NE and Madilyn Yungdahl of Tenino WA. Her three sisters, Barbara Schroeder of Chandler, AZ, Elaine Abbott of Surprise, NE and Sandra (Willie) Ewert of Chandler, AZ. One brother-in-law, Elwyn (Donna) Yungdahl of Stromsburg, NE. One sister-in-law, Dora (Gordan) Star of Tuscon, AZ. And many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Ruth Stratton, Clarks parents, Fred and Arloa Yungdahl and brothers-in-law, Gregg Abbott and Lee Schroeder.
“When tomorrow starts without me, we won’t be so far apart, for every time you think of me, I’ll be right there in all of your hearts.”
There will be no visitation, cremation, with a private family inurnment at a later date.
