Jeremy Ray Covert

Jeremy Ray Covert, age 41, of York, Nebraska, passed away, November 7, 2018 as a result of an accident.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Dan Spearow officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Musical selections will be "Put A Candle In the Window", "If Heaven Was Heeding a Hero", and "When I get Where I'm Going." Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Red, Tim Preuit, Bradley Nagel, Terry Tritt, Craig Maple, Jeff Pinneo, Anthony Red, Brendan Covert, Devin Sikes, Alysa Sikes, Bryce Peters, Gaige Adams, and Naomi Kerwood. Inurnment will be in the Osceola Cemetery.
Jeremy was born June 24, 1977 to Dennis and Cheryl (Ballinger) Covert in Nebraska City. He attended school in Columbus. He was united in marriage to Jessica Groenke.
Jeremy attended schooling to receive two ASE certificates and was a technician quality manager. He worked for T.A. Petro Travel Centers of American at their York location for the past several years.
He was a member of the Genoa Volunteer Firefighters. He enjoyed spending time with his children.
Survivors include his wife Jessica of York; sons Brendan, and Corbin Covert of York and daughter Kenedi Covert of Genoa; mother Cheryl (Pat) Peregoy of Columbus; grandmother Sylvia Ballinger of Sedalia, MO; sister Kim Covert of Bellevue; brother Brian (Tara) Covert) of Rising City; special friend Tammy Tieken of York; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Dennis Covert; grandparents Betty and Harold Schomaker and Harold Ballinger; step-father Rex Loveless and cousin Lindsay Larson.
Memorials are suggested to the Covert Children's Educational Fund.
