Donna Kay (Christie) Darling

Donna Kay Darling, 60 of Osceola formally of Shelby passed away October 20, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society of Osceola.
At Donna’s request a time of fellowship will be held at Lone Star Trading Post 14100 Columbus Rd. Northeast, Columbus, NE 68601 starting at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 26, 2018.
Donna was born October 4, 1958 in Jacksonville, Florida to Russell Vincent and Lavena Lee (Calhoun) Christie. While growing up the family lived in various places before settling in Columbus in 1966 where she attended school. At a young age she found enjoyment working as a bartender starting at The Lark in Columbus then moving to various other bars in the area. She continued working as a bartender until 2015 with the last eight years at Lone Star.
She was united in marriage, to this union two children were born. In 2005 Donna and her two children moved to Shelby. In February of 2017 she was moved into the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola where she resided until her passing. Donna’s hobbies included playing bingo and reading.
Donna is survived by her son Vincent Darling of Lincoln and a daughter Shanelle “Shanie” Darling of Shelby; two grandsons Adrik and Barrett; two sisters Diana Christie of Shelby, and Deana Montana of Palm Springs, California; two brothers Steve Christie of Gresham, and Vince Christie of Lincoln.
Donna was preceded in death by mother Lavena Christie, and two brothers Lavern and James Christie.
