Carla June (Johnson) Johnson

Carla June Johnson, age 63, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away July 15, 2018 at the Independence House Mandarin in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg with Pastor Brenda Pfeifly officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Organist will be Sue Lehn. Congregational hymns will be "How Great Thou Art", "My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less" and "Children Of The Heavenly Father." Interment will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.
Carla was born, June 6, 1955 to Lawrence 'Tip' and Mary 'Kate' Katherine (Fincham) Johnson in Marysville, Kansas. She attended school in Hanover, Kansas, graduating in 1973. She then began working for the State of Nebraska in Lincoln doing data entry until 1986 when she moved to Osceola and began working at John Deere in Osceola as a bookkeeper.
On September 5, 1986 she was united in marriage to David DeVon Johnson at Salem Lutheran Church in Stromsburg. To this union one son was born.
In 2003 Carla began working in Grand Island for a short time and later began working for the State of Nebraska Dept. of Roads in York as a secretary and bookkeeper. Dave passed away December 30, 2005.  In 2010 Carla moved to York. In early 2014 she quit working due to her health and in May of 2014 moved to the Mahoney House. December of 2016 she moved to the Independence House Mandarin in Lincoln where she resided until her passing.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, and was always a dedicated employee. She enjoyed baking and gardening when she lived on the farm and always enjoyed spending time with Curtis. Even with her poor health, she continued to brighten people's days making them happy.
Survivors include one son Curtis (Ashley) of Lincoln; five sisters, Ruth (Earl) Oldehoeft of Hanover, KS, Rose Ann (Ralph) Spier of Clatonia, Laverne (Lynn) Heath of Andover, KS, Linda (Gary) Crome of Bremen, KS, Mary Lee (Warren) Drinkgern of Bremen, KS; two sister-in-law Diane (Mark) Pursel of Omaha; father and mother-in-law DeVon and Ruth Johnson of Osceola; nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband David; her parents Tip and Kate Johnson.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
